“An authentic faith-which is never comfortable or completely personal-always involves a deep desire to change the world, to transmit values, to leave this earth somehow better than we found it.”
Pope Francis – Evangelii Gaudium
The Christian Peace Education Fund was established in 1982 to encourage education that is rooted in the social teaching of the Church and proclaims a Gospel of peace.
The Fund aims to promote peace through education for all ages. Grants given are small, in the region of £200 – £1000. The Fund has been able to encourage and facilitate many creative initiatives over the years – allowing projects to happen that may not otherwise have been possible.
A key role of the Fund is to provide an annual grant to Pax Christi to enable it to continue its important and long-established peace education work.
The Trustees of CPEF are:
Mary Ryan (who joined in July 2018)
Ed Tierney is secretary to the fund
Aisling Griffin, Pax Christi’s Peace Education Worker reports to meetings
The Christian Peace Education Fund is a registered charity (No. 326266)
